As a new age dawns for Electric Vehicles, a new contender stands tall and proud over the rest. Unique in style, uncompromising in speed, and unprecedented in passion, Orxa Energies has been kicking it since 2015 and they do not seem like they are stopping anytime soon. With a massive uptick in the rise of fast motorcycles that positively impact the environment, Orxa Energies has made a name for itself in delivering high-performance batteries and now, they are ready to bring a fully realized version of the Mantis to the consumer.
When Slate Studios first approached Orxa Energies, there was a sense of hope and positivity for the brand. With the market for high-performance EVs being less saturated than one would think, Orxa Energies was positioned to make a massive start. The first project with Slate Studios was relatively simple - film the ‘Mantis’ in a way that would showcase the various aspects that make it stand out. With a team of more than 40 crew members and with one of the best directors of photography in the state - Rahul Accot, Slate Studios shot an enticing product film that not only made sure that the ‘Mantis was at the forefront but also delivered the film in a surprisingly quick turnaround time.
The ‘Mantis’ is an incredible piece of engineering. It has a top speed of 140 Kmph and boasts 105Nm of torque. For a motorcycle, this tech is unprecedented. The engineers at Orxa Energies have made sure that this motorcycle stands toe to toe with some of the best-performing ICEs on the market. With a profile made to rule the streets of India, the ‘Mantis’ was here to stay.
The team at Orxa Energies consists of bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts. They have made it a point to only work with individuals who have a passion for one thing and one thing only - Biking in all its forms. When you visit their offices, one is greeted with the sight of a row of motorcycles parked that shows off their unique tastes.
After a successful in-studio shoot of the ‘Mantis’, the team at Slate Studios was tasked with documenting this ‘Ambush Predator’ on track. When it comes to track-day shoots, there are a lot of factors that the team had to take into consideration. From track conditions to weather forecasts which were also coupled with a time constraint, the team had to get cracking. The track that was chosen was a go-kart track located a couple of kilometers to the east of Bangalore City. While being relatively small, this track proved to be the perfect proving ground for the ‘Mantis’.
Keeping all of the above factors in mind, the team had its work cut out. The two Mantis’ were sent out on track and with a camera and a vision, the team successfully captured the Mantis’ going through the various twists and turns that were demanded of it. Watching the EV get acclimated to the track with such style and precision was something that was beautiful to watch. The team had a blast capturing the Mantis and with another quick delivery time for the final film, Orxa Energies was extremely pleased with the results.
As the Mantis gained traction with the biking community, another excellent opportunity to market the bike to seasoned bikers arose. Enter - India Bike Week 2022. This event is called the ‘Mecca for Bikers’ and IBW 2022 was no slouch in this regard. With a plethora of event partners and manufacturers congregating in Goa, the event was poised to be one of the greats. Orxa Energies was a prominent presence at India Bike Week 2022 as they were the official EV Partners for the event. The promotion of the event was taken over by 70 Event Media Group with brands like KTM, Hero, and BMW also providing exposure and bringing in the crowds.
When it comes to the art of motorcycles in India, bikers need no secondary introduction. Indian Bike Week 8 was a roaring success. Garnering scores of motorcycle enthusiasts who were eager to see what this year had in store for them. Orxa Energies proudly showcased the Mantis as well. Their event booth was always one that had a ton of inquisitive bikers surrounding it, eager to get their hands on this beautiful piece of engineering.
Slate Studios was tasked with covering the event in its entirety while focusing on Orxa Energies in particular. Having this clear goal, the team from Slate Studios was with Orxa Energies’ contingent throughout the event. Asking the people to weigh in about their thoughts on the Mantis while also keeping the film looking fresh and unique. Event after movies were shot for Indian Bike Week 2022 and like always, the turnaround time for the final film was exceptionally quick by Slate Studios, delivering within the day.
Impressed with the quality and professionalism that Slate Studios brings to the fold,
there are brighter things in store for both enterprises.
The Mantis is poised to be one of the best high-performance motorcycles in the market currently
and this is barring the fact that it is an EV.
